Berendina Development Services is a non-profit development organisation focused on poverty alleviation, social inclusion and the socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable and marginalised communities.
Its published work includes youth skills development and support for youth-run enterprises in Batticaloa, including fields such as sewing, salons, beauty services and CCTV installation.
Support pathways for eligible youth in selected DS Divisions.
Through current collaboration arrangements, eligible youth living in the Koralaipattru and Pattipalai Divisional Secretariat areas may be considered for assistance toward selected skill-based education at iTech Campus.
The purpose is to help participants gain employable or self-employment skills that can contribute to livelihood improvement.
How a supported education journey may work.
Initial Guidance
The learner discusses goals, location, age, current situation and suitable skill areas.
Eligibility Screening
Residence, project coverage, vulnerability criteria and required documents are reviewed.
Course Selection
A relevant skill-based programme is selected according to aptitude and livelihood goals.
Referral & Approval
Information is referred through the applicable process. Final support decisions remain with the funding programme.
Training & Monitoring
Attendance, practical progress, assessment and learner participation are monitored.
Completion & Livelihood Direction
Certification, enterprise guidance or employment direction supports the next step.
Funding is subject to eligibility and current project availability.
